Recently, LifeWay Academy welcomed two representatives from the Elbow Reef Society, who visited our school to deliver an engaging presentation to our fifth-grade students. Their focus was on the historic Elbow Reef Lighthouse and its significance within Bahamian maritime history.
All participants at the event experienced a highly interactive and exciting session. The presentation not only captured the students' attention but also encouraged meaningful engagement, allowing them to connect classroom learning with real-world history. This educational experience fostered a deeper understanding of the importance of cultural preservation. By linking the students' academic learning to the heritage embodied by the Elbow Reef Lighthouse, the event reinforced the value of safeguarding our maritime history for future generations. |

On Friday, March 21st, 2026, LifeWay Academy held a special event in recognition of both World Down Syndrome Day and St. Patrick’s Day.
Students participated by rocking their socks in honor of World Down Syndrome Day, showing support and raising awareness. In addition, they wore green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, embracing the festive spirit of the occasion. |
To God be the Glory! We are deeply thankful for the unwavering dedication and support demonstrated by our teachers, parents, and students. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Coaches Chauncey and Keisha for their guidance and encouragement. The collective efforts of everyone involved contributed to a successful event for our athletes.
This year marked a significant milestone for our school community. For the first time, students from grades one through six participated in the track meet, and our team achieved an impressive third-place finish out of eleven competing schools. Last year, only students from grades four to six took part, and the team placed fourth out of seven schools. The inclusion of younger students and the improved standing are both noteworthy accomplishments.
We recognize that God is guiding us every step of the way. Even when we stumble or make mistakes, we are reassured by His constant guidance each day. Our faith inspires us to persevere, and we remain grateful for the blessings and successes we have experienced together.

We were blessed to welcome a missionary group from Cornerstone Church in Mississippi, who visit us annually to join our LifeWay Academy family for a special assembly. This year, Pastor Bailou graciously facilitated their visit, allowing them to participate in our gathering.
During the assembly, the group powerfully shared the love of God with our students and staff through a heartfelt message delivered by a young girl, along with uplifting singing and sincere prayer. Their presence and ministry were a meaningful encouragement to everyone in attendance. We praise God for the opportunity to spend this time together and for the encouragement He provided to our LifeWay Academy community through the faith and dedication of our guests. |

Grade Six (G6) Field Trip

LifeWay Academy’s Grade Six travelled with Mrs. Glender Knowles, The Great Abaco Express Bus Service, to Treasure Cay, Abaco, to visit Fruity Freddie Farms. Mr. Huel Moss did a great job explaining his hydroponics and aquaponics farm. It is fantastic and we learned a great deal about these ways of growing vegetables without pesticides. He sells locally his grown produce and produces jams, pepper sauces for sale. He has customers all over Abaco and other parts of the world. This former educator, principal, and District Education Office in Abaco is still in education with what he is doing to help the Bahamas be self-sustainable.
